Ever since the demise of the Hummer, the non-environmentally conscious celebrities (and definitely not Leo DeCaprio) have had to find another outlet to get their luxury monster truck fix, and some have turned to the Mercedes-Benz Unimog, including former California Governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The 65-year-old Terminator star was spotted in Santa Monica Thursday driving his massive and expensive SUV. The UNIMOG retails for about $250,000 and is the military vehicle of choice for the German army as well as the Britain and the United States armies. Schwarzenegger’s vehicle has reportedly been modified to drive on Los Angeles roads.
So why does is come with such an high price tag? According to the car maker, the Unimog was built for the “most extreme, arduous tasks, including: fighting forest fires, performing rescue operations during catastrophes or maintaining power supply lines.’
A number of fans gathered in the parking lot to admire the car, and one woman even climbed onto it, clinging onto the bull bars.
