Bentley has presented to the world a beautiful supercar, and to the absolute delight of Bentley enthusiasts, there’s more to the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed than meets the eye.
This model Continental GT Speed is a 616 horsepower, 590 pound-feed, eight-speed transmission vehicle that roars from zero to sixty in 4 seconds and can get a top speed of 205 miles per hour.
A 10 to 12 percent drop in fuel consumption is one of the secret charms of this beauty; the W12 engine come with a specific system to recuperate energy to optimize the alternator and electrical system. For example, energy that is generated during deceleration can be stored for later use.
A feature for those who like to get some serious driving action is that the eight-speed transmission can “block shift” and entire four gears, going from eighth to fourth almost instaneously, really making the car spring to life. A reworked suspension with stiffer springs, anti-roll bars and revised steering also all help to make the most of the Bentley’s speed capacity.
Giving the Continental GT Speed its low, deep growl is a more evolved version of the Continental Supersports Ice Speed Record’s exhaust, and to slow everything down are the large carbon or iron disks with eight-piston callipers acting as brakes.
While the beautiful Bentley will be desired by many, it will only be purchased by the very lucky few who can afford the $220,725 price tag.
