BMW is attaching a serious price tag to its upcoming i8 hybrid supercar. In late 2013, customers will pay over $125,400 for the electric compact.
The competitively-priced auto will go up against the rechargeable Fisker Karma sedan, which rings in at $103,000. BMW will also release the i3 just before Saab debuts the electric 9-3 car.
The progressive line of efficient autos features a lightweight body structure and a high-performance three-cylinder combustion engine.
BMW has been planning these prices for over a year. So far, 45 of the 200 dealerships in Germany will sell I models.
