A 49-year-old Ferrari is hitting the auto market for a stifling £5m ($7.78 million), making it one of the most expensive cars in the world.
Talacrest is selling the exquisite 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder, which was created through a rare and elite collaboration, as Enzo Ferrari brought Pininfarina on for design and Scaglietti on for building.
Something of a silver-screen celeb, the Ferrari has been seen in multiple films, including as Cameron Diaz’s haute wheels in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.
The details include a 3-litre V12 engine and a four-speed gearbox. Watch this Ferrari accelerate from 0-60 in just 8 seconds, with a top speed of 149 mph.
“The car underwent a full nut and bolt restoration three years ago which took two years to complete,” said Talacrest’s John Collins. “I’ve only had the model up for sale for a week and I’ve already had plenty of interest from around the world. It is one of the most beautiful open-top Ferraris ever built and one of the most desirable sports cars anywhere in the world.”
