Chrysler’s Sergio Marchionne said in a Detriot radio interview that Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo was speechless after seeing the new SRT Viper.
Marchionne didn’t mention Montezemolo by name, but said that the Ferrari Chairman has nothing but praise for the new American vehicle once he saw it. Ferrari and SRT are part of the Fiat-Chrysler corporation.
The Viper is the first car created from the new SRT company and was unveiled at the 2012 New York Motor Show in April.
The production of the SRT Viper is expected to take place at Chrysler’s Connor Avenue assembly plant in Detroit beginning this fiscal year. The fifth-generation Viper is more efficient and has taken huge steps forward compared to previous models, which stopped production in 2010 in all areas.
